Circus tiger to perform in Russian ballet for first time
Moscow, Mar 19 (UNI) A circus tiger is to take part in a performance for the first time in the history of Russian ballet, a spokesperson for St Petersburg's Imperial Mikhailovsky Theatre said today.
Mira, the tiger, arrived from Moscow today to star in the new version of Aram Khachaturyan's 'Spartacus', which is due to premiere on April 29.
The theatre told RIA Novosti news agency that the ballet would be ''a distinctive combination of muscles and dance, showing all the vitality of male corps de ballet.'' The performance would cost 3.5 million dollars. Hundreds of unique costumes were currently being prepared.
