Bihar to have close ties with China's Yunnan province
Patna, Mar 19 (UNI) The Yunnan province in China and Bihar will soon establish a close tie between the two regions owing to a lot of similarities in their socio-economic backgrounds.
This was decided at a meeting between a seven- member delegation of the Chinese Peoples' Political Congress, led by its Deputy Chairman in Yunnan region Yuan Zulian and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar here last night.
Announcing the proposed tie, both Mr Zulian and Mr Kumar hoped that since both the regions enjoyed near similar socio-cultural background and their economy was based on agriculture and agro products,the new relationship would open a new vista of opportunity for closer bilateral relations.
When formalised, the tie would be the first of its kind in eastern India,official sources here informed.
