Silver, Gold decline: Bombay Bullion Assn
Mumbai, Mar 18: Both the precious metals declined today as Silver fell by Rs 645 per kg and Gold by Rs 335 per ten gm on sustained heavy selling pressure, in the opening session of trading in the bullion market.
In international market, downward trend was seen in precious metals as Gold dropped to USD 996.30/997.10 per ounce from USD 1,001.00/1,001.80 an ounce in New York. Silver edged down to USD 19.93/19.98 an ounce from USD 20.35/20.41 an ounce. Following were the opening rates of spot silver and gold in the Bombay Bullion market today: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade : Rs 25,005 Gold (per 10 gm) Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 13,160 Gold 99.9 purity pure gold : Rs 13,220.
