Sharma-Basu swap designation

Jharkhand, Mar 18 (UNI) Controversial Jharkhand Chief Secretary P P Sharma of Jharkhand was replaced tonight by Mr A K Basu.

Mr Basu was the Director General of Administrative Training Institute. Mr Sharma will now hold that position.

Mr Sharma's removal comes in the wake of alleged financial irregularities which caused a furore in the current Budget Session in the state Assembly.

The BJP led opposition demanded his removal during the current session of the assembly.
