Reliance Industries under SEBI lense for insider trading

New Delhi, Mar 18 (UNI) Securities and Exchange Board of India has launched an inquiry against promoters/affiliates of Reliance Industries on the charge of indulging in insider trading in the stock of Reliance Petroleum, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.

To a question by Mr Amar Singh (Samajwadi Party) in the House whether the government has taken any action against the promoters/affiliates of Reliance Industries regarding the recent mammoth insider trading activities in the shares of Reliance Petroleum, Minister of State for Finance Pawan Kumar Bansal in a written reply said ''SEBI has informed that it has initiated an examination in the matter.'' Reliance Petroleum is a company of the Reliance Group headed by Mr Mukesh Ambani.
