Privilege notice against Orissa CM

Bhubaneswar, Mar 18 (UNI) Congress Deputy Leader in Orissa Assembly Narashingh Mishra today moved a privilege notice against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for not replying to the questions asked to him in the house.

Moving the notice against the Chief Minister, Mr Mishra said not only the Chief Minister but also the Ministers were not replying to the questions moved by the Opposition members.

Citing an example,the Congress Deputy leader said he wanted to know from the Chief Minister as to what steps the government was taking to restore the justice delivery system which had collapsed following the month long agitation by the lawyers in the state.

The Chief Minister instead of replying to his questions went on describing the one man commission set up by the government to look into the issues of the lawyers.

Mr Mishra also alleged that the Speaker instead of directing the Minister to reply, was trying to defend them.He urged the Speaker to come to the rescue of the Opposition and try to uphold the dignity of the house.

Ruling BJD member Ranendra Pratap Swain also , rising on a point of order,said'' there is no point to come to the house if the Ministers would not reply to our questions''.
