PreMedia Global acquires GGS Book Services

Chennai, Mar 18 (UNI) PreMedia Global Inc, a leading KPO firm focusing on content services for the publishing industry, has completed the acquisition of GGS Book Services, a division of GGS Information Services.

Talking to newspersons here today, company Co-CEO Kapil Viswanathan claimed that the acquisition positioned PreMedia as the market leader in the educational publishing services industry, with 1,000 employees spread across seven locations in the US and two in India.

''The acquisition nearly ties in with PreMedia's business model as a one-stop shop for all content-releated services,'' he said, adding that it further strengthened PreMedia's position as a knowledge services provider with a highly-skilled staff of creative designers and writers, including Harvard graduates and teachers with several years of experience in US schools.

Mr Viswanathan said the two companies would continue to operate independently in the near future, and PreMedia would have rights to continue with the CGS name and logo for an extended period of time.

''An internal taskforce, comprising senior executives from both companies, would evaluate areas of synergy between the two companies and recommend an action plan for integration over the next six months,'' he added.

He said PreMedia was also expanding its Chennai operation with a state-of-the-art facility in Ascendas IT park with a capacity to seat 750 people over three shifts.
