Pondy budget session from March 25,

Puducherry, Mar 18(UNI) The budget session of the territorial assembly will begin here on March 25 rpt 25 and Chief Minister N Rangasamy, holding the finance portfolio will present the annual budget 2008-09 in the House on March 27.

According to official sources, the cabinet meeting which first decided the date for the commencement of the session as March 26 it had to change it to March 27 as the Lt Governor (additional charge) Lt General (retd) Bhopinder Singh had sought a change to suit his convenience.

The session being the first sitting of the year, will begin with the customary address by the Lt Governor. This would be the new Lt Governor's first address to the House. On the first day of the session, the members would speak on the motion of thanks to the Lt.Governor's address.
