PM assures Badal to take up Sarabjit issue with Pak Govt
Chandigarh, Mar 18 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today assured Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal that the Central Government was taking up the Sarabjit Singh issue with the Pakistan Government ''at the highest level''.
The Prime Minister's letter received here this morning comes in response to the communication of Mr Badal issued yesterday.
The Chief Minister had urged Dr Singh to intervene with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf to exercise leniency and withdraw the death warrant issued against the Indian national from Punjab.
