PCB to stop the Asia Cup postponement
Lahore, Mar 18 : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to convince the Asian Cricket Council to stop the postponement of the Asia Cup in a meeting scheduled for March 20.
The current wave of bombings that led to its postponement has put the Asia Cup and the Champions Trophy in difficult situation. ICC executive board is to discuss the holding of the Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
To discuss the fate of the event and other arrangements, the PCB and the ACC officials will be meeting on March 20.
According to The Nation, Sri Lankan Cricket Board chief Arjuana Ranatunga is likely to discuss plans for holding the Asia Cup from June 24 to July 6. The PCB is expected to give a detailed presentation to the ICC on March 21.
For discussion on all issues, including the Champions Trophy, the Asia Cup and the expected life ban of Shoaib Akhtar, the PCB executive board will meet on March 22.
