Pak Attorney General says SC could not bar parliament proceedings

Islamabad, Mar 18 : Pakistan Attorney General Malik Muhammad Qayyum on Tuesday said that the Supreme Court (SC) couldn't bar parliament proceedings, as this matter does not come under its jurisdiction.

Talking about issues pertaining to the reinstatement of the deposed judges, Qayyum said: "One may desire for the reinstatement of the deposed judges through passage of a resolution in the parliament but in fact it can not happen."

"It only could be done through the amendment in the constitution and two-third majority in the parliament was need to amend the constitution for the said purpose," The News quoted him, as saying.
