Issue of crimes against foreigners raised in Assembly

Jaipur, Mar 18 (UNI) As many as 78 incidents of crime were reported against foreign tourists at different places in Rajasthan between January, 2004 and January, 2008, Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said in the Assembly today.

Replying to a question from Pramod Jain Bhaya, Mr Kataria informed the House that these incidents included five cases of rape, 27 cases of eve teasing, four incidents of loot and 42 incidents of misbehaviour.

The minister said two incidents of rape with foreigners had been reported from Amba Mata in Udaipur and Pushkar in Ajmer district during January this year while two cases of rape were reported in 2006 and one in 2005.

Out of total 78 crimes against foreigners, accused in 34 incidents were yet to be traced and/or identified.
