Congress to send a report on Hogenakkal to Center: Krishna
Bangalore, Mar 18 (UNI) Promising that Congress will protect the interests of the people of the state on Cauvery Issue, Senior Congress leader S M Krishna today said a 'fact report' will be sent to Center on the controversial Hogenakkal Project undertaken by Tamil Nadu Government.
Participating in a 'Meet the Press' programme jointly organised by Bangalore Press Club and Bangalore Reporters Guild here, he said the Project was part of a long history of conflict between the two states. "It is the responsibility of everybody to protect the interests of the people," he said.
Refusing to elaborate on the issue, he said the Congress in Karnataka would make an objective study on the controversial project and report it to the high command.
Mr Krishna, who recently demitted the office of the Governor of Maharashtra recently, criticised the 'narrow minded' political stand taken by Maharashtra Nava Nirman Samithi, which had targetted non-Maharashtra people recently.
"The Country belongs to everybody and no sensible people will subscribe to MNNS's call," he said.
