CBI asked to submit final report on Lavlin case in 6 months
Kochi, Mar 18 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today directed the CBI to complete its investigation and file the final report on the SNC Lavalin case within six months.
A Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice H L Dattu and Mr Justice K M Joseph, after perusing an interim report filed by the CBI yesterday observed ''after going through the report we are satisfied that there is substantial progress.'' The court was hearing a petition filed by the editor of 'Crime' magazine T P Nandakumar, complaining that the CBI was not investigating the case properly.
The case pertains to an alleged loss of around Rs 400 crore to the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) in the contract given to Canadian company SNC Lavalin, to revamp three power stations in the state during the previous tenure of the LDF Government, when party state Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan was the power minister.
