Arrest warrants Chandigarh builder in cheque bounce case
Chennai, Mar 18 (UNI) IX Metropolitan Magistrate Court here issued arrest warrants against Chandigarh Overseas Private Limited Managing Director Gursharan Batra in two cheque bouncing cases involving Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 9,724 respectively.
The builder and promoter of Fashion Technology Park in Chandigarh had issued two cheques for participation in the overseas property show, organised by Priya Publications in Malaysia and Singapore during December 2006, but both bounced.
The Magistrate said the builder should be released on bail after he presented himself before the court on March 28 after furnishing a bond of Rs 1000 and a surety for a likesum.
The court had issued the arrest warrants (bailable) after the builder failed to appear before the court in response to the summons, asking him to appear before the court on October 30, 2007 and February seven.
