AppLabs releases SOA Survey Results

Hyderabad, Mar 18 (UNI) AppLabs, one of the world's largest independent testing, quality management and certification solutions company, today said Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) was being widely adopted by organisations worldwide.

The SOA survey, which it undertook to showcase the growing interest in SOA adoption across the IT industry, confirmed that SOA is fast becoming the default choice for integration for both internal and external business applications.

The research sampled IT professionals from Fortune 500 companies, and focused on four key areas of SOA -- Planning, Adoption, Benefits and Risks, and Quality Management and Testing issues. The analysis indicated the need for a fundamental shift in the testing approach towards SOA.

In a statement, AppLabs Europe Client Engagement Head Graham Smith said, ''With AppLabs' significant experience in the Service Oriented Architecture testing arena and 52 per cent of IT companies unaware of the risks associated with implementing an SOA system, it opens up a huge market opportunity for us globally to implement the right quality assurance and testing strategies for successful SOA implementation to meet their business objectives.'' ''While 38 per cent of organizations are already on track with their SOA implementation, 43 per cent are still in the planning stage. The results clearly indicate the adoption of SOA for both technology and business reasons.
