40 children fell ill after consuming mid-day meal

Bankura, Mar 18 (UNI) At least 40 children were taken ill after consuming the Mid-day meal in a primary school under Onda block in the district.

Official sources said here today that the children fell ill after after having their daily meal under ICDS-Mid-day meal programme in the school yesterday.

Initial investigations revealed that a lizard had fallen into the food while it was being cooked.

All the victims had been rushed to Onda Primary Health Centre and were released after medication.
