TDP demands inquiry into irrigation projects
Hyderabad, Mar 17 (UNI) The opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today demanded an inquiry into all irrigation projects taken up by Andhra Pradesh government.
Addressing a press conference here, TDP Legislators V Narendra Reddy and D Uma Maheswara Rao alleged that the government was spending crores of rupees for the irrigation projects, but the construction lacked quality.
They said the TDP legislators led by T Devender Goud inspected the Devadula Lift Irrigation Project in Warangal district and found seepage in the pipelines.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today alleged that the TDP was trying to politicise every developmental project taken up by the government.
In a statement, APCC spokesperson N Tulasi Reddy said it was natural that minor seepage would occur when water was released through pipelines for the first time.
Mr Reddy alleged that the TDP's main intention was to oppose all the developmental projects taken up by the government.
