Rupee slips at 40.75/76 against USD

Mumbai, Mar 17: The Rupee today slid nearly thirty-two paise at 40.75/76 against US Dollar from its previuous close of 40.43/44 per Dollar, tracking the sharp fall of Indian equity market in the opening trade. The Indian unit dropped to its weakest in more than six months today, on the reports of rising risk aversion as the emergency sale of the Fed's discount rate cut heightened fears of more credit crisis victims, dealers said.
