Red wheat supply to be probed in MP
Bhopal, Mar 17 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Akhand Pratap Singh today assured the Assembly that supply of ''substandard'' imported red wheat would be probed and action taken against officials concerned.
Replying to a debate on budgetary demands, he said, ''the poor will be supplied with subsidised white wheat instead.'' After the Minister's reply, demands exceeding Rs 541 crore were passed by voice vote.
The wheat issue had stirred a hornet's nest with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan accusing the Centre of supplying substandard red wheat.
