Now ''motorbikes'' to patrol in Jammu
Jammu, Mar 17 (UNI) Fifteen flying gypsies and ten high gadgetry new motorbikes have been introduced to keep close watch on the activities taking place in different places here.
New Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone K Rajindera after assuming the charge was in favour of friendly policing and security to the people of the region.
''The entire Jammu city has been put under the surveillance of the close circuit cameras, which will be keeping hawk's eyes on the movements taking place in the city,'' sources told UNI asserting, ''Fifteen flying gypsies, ten-flying motor-bikes equipped with modern telecommunication facilitates linked with Police Control Room have been deployed to reach-out immediately to the congested areas at the time of urgency.'' ''The proposal for introducing 15 more motorbikes for patrolling purpose is in the pipeline while the purpose is to gear up police to take on any challenge posed by the anti-national elements and to provide better service to the society,'' sources said.
Sources also said each motor cycle was provided with two police officials equipped with weapons and their services would be made available in the allotted areas round the clock for maintaining surveillance on the anti-national elements.
