MSRTC employees hold Dharna agitation
Nashik, Mar 17 (UNI) Members of the Maharashtra State Transport Kamgar Sanghatana observed ''Dharna'' at the divisional office and workshop of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) today.
''Out of the 5,500 MSRTC employees, 4000 employees are the members of Kamgar Sanghatana. All of them have supported the agitation. The agitation will be observed at Malegaon, Nandgaon and other parts of the district also,'' Kamgar Sanghatana divisional secretary Shivaji Dhoble said today.
The agitation will not affect the MSRTC service as in most of the places it is being observed during the lunch hour.
''Nearly all class III and 1V employees including drivers, conductors, clerks, other staff members and technical staff have took part in the agitation, Dhoble said.'' In Nashik, as many as 500 employees took part in the protest for their various demands. Some of their demands include new salary agreement on the basis of 6th Pay Commission recommendations, continuation of the present administrative agreement even after March 31, 2008, the end of the duration, ex-gratia payment according to amended bonus act, making part time workers full time workers and implementation of pension scheme to retired employees.
