HC orders direct postings for 1,176 sub-inspectors
Lucknow, Mar 17 (UNI) The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court today ordered to give postings to 1,176 constable-promoted- sub-inpectors and quashed it's single bench order of revising the promotional procedure.
A bench comprising Justices Hemant Laxman Gokhale and Sanjay Mishra delivered the judgement over a writ petition filed by Dinesh Kumar and others.
On November 11, 2006, while hearing a writ petition of Sheela Devi and others, a single bench of the Allahabad High Court had ordered to hold the promotions of 1,176 constables, who had official inquiries and criminal cases pending against them.
The bench had also ordered the state government to re-conduct the promotional procedure.
However, the bench had validated promotion of other 388 constables.
The court today quashed the earlier decision and ordered to give direct postings to the constables.
