From outcastes to tech-savvy transgenders
Vellore, Tamil Nadu, Mar 17 (UNI) In a move aimed at empowering the ostracised transgender community, a private computer training centre in this district has come forward to provide them computer training to face the digital era.
The training, provided free of cost by Universe Computer Centre at Katpadi to 17 transgenders, was today inaugurated by District Collector Dharmendra Pradeep Yadav.
The transgenders would be provided the training for two hours daily for 45 days.
Universe Computer Centre Director R Ganesh, district social welfare officer Saroja Thiruvengadam and head of NGO 'Wheel' Mallika took part in the inaugural function.
