BJP attacks Govt for weak-need response to repression in Tibet
New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today launched a sharp attack on the ''weak-kneed'' response of the Government to the ''bloody repression'' of Tibetan people by China and urged it to use its offices to stop the violation of human rights in the region.
Raising the issue in the Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, BJP Member and former Foreign Minister Yashwant Sinha said Chinese authorities were carrying on a ''genocide '' in Tibet which should be stopped at any cost.
' They were cracking even on most peaceful protestors and indulging in blatant violation of human rights with a chilling brutality, said Mr Sinha.
Underlining that the Dalai Lama was ''our most honoured guest'', Mr Sinha criticised the police for putting down the Tibetan people's protest here.
''We are all for good relations with China, but want their repressive measures in Tibet to stop,'' he said.
