Baby inaugurates 'Basheer Utsavam'

Kozhikode, Mar 17 (UNI) Kerala Education Minister M A Baby inaugurated 'Basheer Utsavom,' a cultural extravaganza to mark the birth centenary celebration of legendary Malayalam Writer Vaikom Muhammad Basheer, at a function here today.

The opening ceremony of the one-day programme, organised by Malayalam satellite channel Asianet, was preceded by a painting event participated by well known artistes.

Ghazal by Ummar Hassan, drama, films, documentary on the writer, poem recitation and photo exhibition were some of programmes included in the 12-hour event.
