100 killed in Tibet unrest, claims Tibet Govt
Dharamshala, Mar 17 (UNI) The Tibetan Government-in-Exile today claimed that about 100 people have been killed in Chinese police crackdown on the peaceful demonstrators in Tibet.
Talking to reporters here, Tibet's prime minister-in-exile Samdhong Rinpoche said though it was difficult to say how many had died there in the police crackdown, the number was close to 100.
He said they had already demanded the international community and the United Nations to intervene in the matter and help in stopping the genocide inside China.
''The massive demonstrations that started from March 10 in the capital city of Lhasa and other regions of Tibet, resulting (in the) death of hundreds of Tibetans, and subsequent use of force...
needs to be brought to the attention of the United Nations and the international community,'' its statement said.
It added that exiled leaders here had formed an information monitoring committee to gather information from inside Tibet.
