Troops, militants clash at Chandel

Imphal, Mar 16 (UNI) Assam Rifles (AR) troops and United National Liberation Front (UNLF) cadres have been involved in a clash at T Minnou village in Chandel district since the past 24 hours.

The UNLF claimed that it had attacked the camp of the 24 AR at T Minnou village near the international border area (Border Pillar no 75) in Chandel district yesterday and inflicted heavy casualties on the troops.

However, the Manipur police and Press Information Bureau (Defence Wing) said it had no information of any casualty.

Meanwhile, large number of military choppers were seen circling the air around the area during the past 24 hours.
