SLPF's senior vice president passes away
Colombo, Mar 16 (UNI) Senior Vice President of the ruling Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and former minister of Tourism, Anura Bandaranaike today passed away at his residence here, after a brief illness, party sources said.
He was 59.
The only son of two former Prime Ministers and brother of former President, Anura Bandaranaike entered parliament in 1977 from the Central Nuwara-Eliya district and had held several ministerial portfolios. He held the post of parliament Speaker in 2002.
