Haryana to spend Rs 24316 cr in power sector
Chandigarh, Mar 16 (UNI) The Haryana Government has prepared a power sector investment plan of Rs 24316.82 crore for 11th five year plan.
Out of this Rs 10042.01 crore would be spent on power generation, Rs 7697.72 crore on transmission and Rs 6577.09 crore on strengthening of distribution system in the state.
This was stated by Haryana Forest and Tourism Minister Kiran Choudhry after inaugurating a 33 KV substation at Pataudi village in Bhiwani district today. Ms Choudhry also laid foundation stone of a 33 KV substation at Bhera village in the district.
The 33 KV substation in Pataudi has been constructed by the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam at a cost of Rs Two crore by setting up a transformer of 10 MVA capacity. The 33 KV substation to be constructed at Bhera village will also be of the same capacity and cost.
The Minister said that to strengthen power transmission and distribution system in the state, a comprehensive plan had been formulated to construct 255 new substations, augment 154 existing ones and construct associated transmission lines at cost of Rs 4020 crore.
