Foundation stone for KSEZ likely in April : Official

Kakinada, Mar 16 (UNI) The foundation stone for setting up the Kakinada Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) is likely to be laid next month.

According to official sources here today, the developers of KSEZ were keen on getting the project executed at the earliest.

As per the rehabilitation package, a special officer has been appointed to work out the compensation and rehabilitation of the displaced people.

''We have plans for the construction of a dedicated port in the KSEZ along with a dry dock,'' the sources said.

The land acquisition process has been temporarily stopped following a directive from the Human Rights Commission to the District Collector, on a petition filed by the 'KSEZ Vytireka Porata Committee' and social activist Medha Patkar, the sources added.
