Karnataka: Eight die in road accident

Hubli, Mar 16: Eight people, including four women and a child were killed on the spot and another injured in two different road mishaps near Haveri and Kalghatagi in the early hours of today.

According to police, Six people including four women and a child were killed on the spot when a car dashed against a stationary gas tanker near Chakapur cross on Pune-Bangalore national highway in Haveri district this morning. All the victims were returning to Bangalore after attending a function at Hubli.

In another mishap two people were killed on the spot and another injured when two manganese lorries collided head on near Kalghatagi in Dharwad district. The injured has been shifted to Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences here.
