Bridegroom arrested for attack on scribe, cop

Tirumala, Mar 16 (UNI) A bridegroom and 20 of his relatives were arrested for attacking a journalist and a Sub Inspector here today.

Police said Purushotam, a businessman, hailing from Bangalore, was attempting to marry Durga Bhavani his fourth time in Balaji temple, when his second wife Sesikala and third wife Sunitha, entered with their relatives and some newspersons and attacked the groom and his family members.

The groom's relatives and supporters, however, snatched a camera from the journalist Srikanth, attacked him and the police official, who tried to protect him.

Cases had been registered against the groom and his relatives, police added.
