Hubli, Mar 16: BJP Leader and former Karnataka Minister Jagadish Shettar today expressed confidence that his party would win the Assembly elections in the state.

Talking to newspersons here, he alleged that the Congress wanted to postpone the elections fearing defeat and their recent outburst over deletion of bogus voters from the voters list was due to this fear.

Defending the party's decision to invite Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for addressing tomorrow's farmers rally here, Mr Shettar said Mr Modi was the right person to address the rally as he had created massive infrastructure for the farmers in Gujarat.

Mr Shettar said over two lakh farmers from all over the state were expected to participate in the rally.
