Alternate energy need of the hour: Kalam

Mathura, Mar 16 (UNI) Expressing concern over the increasing vehicular traffic, former president and Bharat Ratan A P J Abdul Kalam today said 'alternate energy is need of the hour.' While talking to Hindustan college of Engineering and Technology student's here, Dr Kalam stressed upon the utilisation of solar energy, bio-energy and nuclear energy for the purpose ''The dream could come true only through continuous effort as knowledge and hard work is the key to success,'' he added.

Replicating a knowledgable teacher, Dr Kalam not only guided the students, but also told them that a person with high dreams could only reach the top.

While recalling his journey as a scientist, he said, ''Moral beauty enhances man's character, which further develops a bond of love and mutual understanding, thus helping restoring national peace. '' He further quoted an instance, where Dr C V Raman had refussed an honour by the first president of India, Dr Rajendra Prasad as he had to get his student's scientific assignment finished on time and asked the teachers to realise their responsibility and be focussed in development of students.

He also made the students swear that they will render knowledge, love and peace when ever required; they will turn every hard stone to reach success; they will respect and honour the national flag and do proud to the nation.
