TRS launches 'election' campaign in AP

Karim Nagar, Mar 15 (UNI) Predicting by poll in Andhra Pradesh for 16 Assembly and four Lok Sabha seats in May, after the Telangana Rastra Samithi(TRS) MLAs and MPs resigned from their posts last week, TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao today kicked off the 'election campaign' in a public meeting organised at Korutla in this district.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rao said ''Telangana people were high command to the TRS. It was the final battle for the cause of separate Telangana. The party would show its strength in the by-poll by winning majority of seats''.

Alleging that the Congress betrayed Telangana by not fulfilling the promise made during the election and conspired to suppress the movement, Mr Rao said, the state government was selling valuable lands to private companies in Hyderabad and the funds procured was being spent on the development programmes in other parts of the state.

Calling on the Telangana people not allow the Congress leaders in their respective villages, he said the TRS would organise series of programmes to strengthen the party in future.
