Private airport to come up at Aranmula
Pathanamthitta, Mar 15 (UNI) A Rs 1,500 crore airport will be constructed at Aranmula in this district of Kerala within three years, Aranmula Aviation Chairman P S Nair said today.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the Government had given licence to the airport that would have a 10,000-ft-long runway.
He said the runway would be completed in a years time and air-taxi service started to cater to the needs of central Travancore.
Land measuring 400 acres had been acquired for the project.
The Mumbai-based 'Aerobics' had been entrusted with the task of preparing the project report.
The first phase of construction would cost Rs 400 crore. It was also planned to run a flying school with an annual strength of 60 cadets.
