PM assures help for Rajiv Gandhi south campus development
Varanasi, Mar 15 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today assured every assistance for the development of Rajiv Gandhi South Campus situated in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing the 90th convocation of the Banaras Hindu University here, Dr Singh said the south campus would surely provide the guiding light of knowledge in the rural Vindhya areas.
Influenced by Pt Madan Mohan Malviya, BHU founder, Dr Singh praised the varsity for producing worthy young students with good character. He said to face the challenges of economic development the students should be educated, skilled and have specialised knowledge, so that they are in a position to carve a niche in the world.
Then they would be able to make India a better nation in every aspects he added.
Re-emphasing the value of Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru's statement, he said that the universities should play an extensive role for rural areas.
Dr Singh assured every help to the Rajiv Gandhi south campus for its development, so that faculty members, students and researchers are able to reach the depths of knowledge and utilize the opportunity for development.
He further said education persons should learn and become able, pursue research, teach and spread knowledge, so that a new revolution in education can occur and universities become rich in every way.
