Mahesh Sharma appointed Development Advisory Board Chairman
Jaipur, Mar 15 (UNI) Former BJP Rajasthan unit president Mahesh Chandra Sharma has been appointed chairman of the Rajasthan Investment Promotion and Development Advisory Board.
Mr Sharma's appointment is for a period of three years, an official spokesman said.
Omprakash Mathur, in place of Mr Sharma, took over as the state party president on January 1 this year in the wake of persistent demand from the ''dissidents group'' of the ruling party.
Ever since his removal from the post, Mr Sharma was aspiring for a Rajya Sabha ticket.
However, the party tickets were allotted to state president Mr Mathur and sitting MP Gyan Prakash Pilania for the March 26 Rajya Sabha elections.
