Kochi, Mar 14(UNI) The Kerala High Court today permitted two students belonging to Seventh Day Avendist Sect to write separately for SSLC examination.

The High Court Single Bench Judge Thotathil B Radakrishnan allowed Ramya Rajan and Jincy Monachan of SDA School in Kotarakara to write examination afer 1800 hrs, on Saturdays. This was done, to uphold contentions of the petitioners that they are unable to work till 1800 hrs, on Saturdays, since it is a holiday for the Seventh Day Aventists.

The State filed a writ petition against the judgement today.

However, the Division Bench comprising Chief Justice H L Dattu and K T Shankaran, had not stayed the judgement, stating that it is meant only for the petitioners and examinations need not be disrupted.

It is indeed a rare occasion that two students were appearing for SSCL examinations by not adhering to the time-table schedule.
