Congress fails to provide justice to minorities: AIMIM
Hyderabad, Mar 15 (UNI) All India Majilis-E-Itihadul Muslimeen(AIMIM) floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi today claimed that minorities were not provided their due share by the Congress Government.
Participating in the debate on demands for grants for the Minorities Welfare, he alleged that though the Muslims accounted for nine per cent of the population, the number of people, who were given houses under the 'INIDRAMMA' programme and jobs in various departments was at the barest minimum.
Mr Owaisi claimed that less than two per cent of the Muslims were benefitted by the weaker section housing programme.
The Government had not only failed to protect the Wakf Property, but state departments were occuping Wakf lands, he alleged, adding that even four years after the Congress came to power, the post of Wakf Board Chairman had not been filled.
Though Urdu had been recognised as second official languague in 15 districts, Government order had been issued only with regard to 12 districts, he contended.
