Chhendipada OIC commits suicide

Angul, Mar 15 (UNI) The officer in charge of Chhendipada police station Rabindra Nath Sahu (40) committed suicide at his residence at Chhendipada near here yesterday, police today said.

Sahu left police station midnight last night and went to his residence nearby for dinner. This morning when a home guard went to his residence he found the body of the police officer was hanging from a rod from with the roof.The doors and windows of the house were open.

Angul Superintendent of Police Pratik Mahanty, Assistant SP Anup Krishna and circle inspector Prashant Mahanty rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

The body was later sent for post-mortem. A case of unnatural death has been registered in Chhendipada police station. The exact cause of his death is still not known,the SP said.
