TTD staff resorts to hunger strike against MLA's occupation
Tirupati, Mar 14 (UNI) In protest against alleged land encroachment by Tirupati MLA V Venkataraman and his followers, a Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) employee today resorted to indefinite hunger strike before the Revenue Divisional office(RDO) here.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Venkatachalam alleged that MLA and his followers had occupied a portion of his land near Tiruchanoor.
He said all political parties, except Congress demanded an enquiry into the illegal act of MLA and his followers in the temple town. They also demanded the Government to conduct an enquiry and survey on Government lands at Tirupati Urban Mandal in Chittoor District, he added.
He alleged that despite lodging a complaint to the police, no action was taken against the MLA.
CPI(M)leader K Murali alleged that the MLA had encroached about 101 acre of land worth several crore and demanded an enquiry against him.
Former TDP Information Minister Siva Prasad, also demanded a survey of Government lands in Chittoor District.
