Trainee pilot, instructor suffer minor injuries in aircraft crash
Pune, Mar 14 (UNI) A trainee pilot and his instructor escaped miraculously when a two-seater trainer aircraft, belonging to a Baramati-based private academy, crashed into Nira river in neighbouring Satara district today.
The pilot and the instructor took off for a training session but the aircraft hit some electric wires and hurtled down into the river at around 1155 hrs, Satara police told UNI.
However, both of them escaped with minor injuries and have been admitted in a hospital in Satara.
The trainer aircraft belonged to the Pilot Training Academy at MIDC Baramati, that has been running for the last fifteen years, the police said.
