Select metals rise on speculative buying
Mumbai, Mar 14 (UNI) Select metals rose today on speculative buying and strong advice from London Metal Exchange (LME), traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said here.
In the ferrous metal category, barring copper heavy, other metals like copper utensils, brass utensils, brass cuttings and aluminium utensils remained flat on moderate demand.
Copper heavy shot up by Rs 100 per quintal amid fresh buying support.
The same trend was seen in the non-ferrous metal category. Lead ingot and tin slab advanced by Rs 200 per quintal and Rs 21 per kg respectively due to heavy demand from retailers, traders said.
Copper wire bar, aluminium ingot, zinc slab and nickel cathode remained unchanged.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 36,400, Copper utensils - Rs 33,000, Brass utensils - Rs 25,200, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,300 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,700.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 39,600, Aluminium ingots - Rs 15,000, Zinc slab - Rs 13,800, lead ingots - Rs 13,000, Tin slab - Rs 900 and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,490 per kg.
