Real estate developer's son kidnapped, rescued
Nagpur, Mar 14 (UNI) The 18-month-old son of a real estate developer was rescued amid dramatic circumstances today after having being allegedly kidnapped by a household servant for ransom.
According to police, the toddler, identified as Parth Kaikade, was rescued from Ramtek, about 45 kilometres from here, this afternoon. The alleged kidnapper, identified only as 'Pintu' (19), and an accomplice have fled.
The kidnappers had checked into a lodge in Ramtek alongwith the child, late last night. The two suspects left the lodge this morning. An employee of the lodge got suspicious as Parth was crying alone in the room and took the child to the nearest police station.
The staff alerted their counterparts here and the child's family because they had information about the kidnapping.
On receiving the information, Parth's parents rushed to Ramtek and identified their child. However, Pintu and his accomplice, who has not been identified, could not be traced yet, the police said.
Pintu had started working as a household servant with the Kaikade family barely four days ago.
Earlier, Pintu had taken Parth for a walk last evening. Parth's father Sanjay Kaikade lodged a complaint with the police Later, when the servant along with the child had not returned for four hours.
After some time Pintu called up Mr Kaikade and asked for a ransom of rupees five lakh to let Parth off, the police said.
