Uttar Pradesh: Rahul to visit bereft Dalit family

Lucknow, Mar 14: Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will pay a visit to Etawah in Uttar Pradesh tomorrow to meet the Dalit family whose five members were killed due to a land dispute on March 12.

Mr Gandhi will reach Ameenbad village under Ekdilpur police station at around 0830 hrs, State Congress spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh said here today.

Five members of a Dalit family were shot dead by criminals over a land dispute.

The ruling Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) had reacted sharply to Rahul Gandhi having spent a night with a dalit family in Purejaisingh village under Bahadurgarh block in his Parliamentary constituency of Amethi on January 26 last.

Chief Minister Mayawati charged the Congress with trying to woo the Dalits only for vested political gains while doing nothing for them during the regime in the state and at the Centre.
