One arrested for twin murder

Nashik, Mar 14 (UNI) Police have arrested the son-in-law of a family in connection with the twin murder of a 54-year-old woman and her daughter-in-law in Wadala Naka area of the city.

Hajirabi Abdul Qadir Memon and her daughter-in-law, Menaz Imran Memon (23), were murdered by an unidentified person at their residence at Indra Apartment in Wadala Naka area on February 22.

The son-in-law of the family, Iqbal Abdul Sattar Memon, had lodged a complaint in this regard.

According to preliminary reports, the twin murder was an act committed by a person, who was known to the family as he was allowed entry into the house at midnight and served tea. Thereafter, police kept an eye on all the persons related to the family.

As the pointer of their suspicion moved towards Iqbal Memon, police arrested him yesterday. He was produced before a local court, which remanded him to police custody till March 17.
