K'taka govt clear Kabini Drinking Water Project
Mysore, Mar 14 (UNI) The Karnataka government will implement the Rs 110 crore Kabini Drinking Water Project under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
In a letter by State Water Resources Department Secretary to Mysore Lok Sabha Member C H Vijyashankar, a copy of which was released to the press here today, it was stated that the government had examined the project and had accorded permission to the same.
The project, a long pending demand of the people, would meet the drinking water requirement of the city till 2039.
The city's current demand stood at 35.25 million gallon daily, which included 3.75 million gallon a day for industries, parks and hospitals.
