High-level committee to visit Eariyur on Mar 18

Puducherry, Mar 14 (UNI) The nine-member high level committee constituted under Rev Fr Anthonysamy to deal and sort out issues in the church at Eariyur in Villuppuram district of Tamil Nadu will visit Eariyur on March 18.

Arch Bishop of Puducherry and Cuddalore Dr Anthony Anandarayar told a press conference here today that the committee could not visit the place today as scheduled.

He said at a meeting here yesterday, in which the committee was constituted, a decision to permit a Monday mass at the Sahaya Madha Church in Dalit Christian dominated area of Earaiyur was also taken.

It may be noted that two persons were killed in a police firing following a clash between two sections of Christians at Eariyur last week.
